My band, Plaid Anxiety, had the honor of playing at Hal’s twice…once when it was literally just a basement and then again after they dug out the pit and made the stage. that place was any Baltimore musician’s landmark and it will be missed…along with the many characters who dwelled there.

my fisrt show ever was at hals, everyone whos anyone from b-more payed some dues there. i always wanted to go back after i “made it” out here in LA and play a free show there for the hell of it.

i bought my first 7″ from Mike Apichella at a house show in Towson….a Within record with a black cover and a newspaper clipping about a dead girl i think? Life changing.

That was an awesome article! I spent most of my time at The Rage. Many a night I spent in that place. Too bad I can’t remember half the bands I seen there, although I do recall seeing Sick of it All, GWAR and I’m pretty sure Stone Temple Pilots played there as well. Could someone let me know if they remember seeing them there too… Your right when I try googling The Rage I get nothing :(
